Cellulases & Xylanases

These enzyme preparations are designed to hydrolyze cellulose and related compounds. These related compounds include the hemicellulases. Hemicellulose is a broad category of polymers made up predominantly of five-carbon sugars.

ENZECO® CELLULASE CE-2 (liquid), MULTIZYME® CELLULASE CEP (powder)
Derived from T. longibrachiatum (aka T. reesei), this is a food grade cellulase. It is available as a liquid or a powder. It is very high in endo cellulase activity and has substantial activity on cellulose as measured by filter paper activity.

ENZECO® CELLULASE FG
Derived from A. niger, this is a food grade cellulase.

ENZECO® CELLULASE SW
Derived from T. longibrachiatum (aka T. reesei), this is a non-food grade cellulase preparation with high activity on cellulose. Limited action on xylan or pentosan.

ENZECO® XYLANASE S 200
A xylanase preparation derived from T. longibrachiatum (aka T. reesei). It is a powder standardized to 200,000 BXU/g. Primary use is in baking and milling.

ENZECO® HEMICELLULASE 20M
Derived from Apergillus niger, this enzyme is high in a variety of galactomannan degrading activities.

ENZECO® XYLANASE AN900
A xylanase derived from A. niger. The principal uses are baking and milling, and animal feeds. Lower in mannanase activity than Enzeco® Hemicellulase 20M but higher in cellulase side activity.

ENZECO® XYLANASE BSX
A unique xylanase/pentosanase from B. subtilis. It may hydrolyze the insoluble xylan components to soluble xylan. In baking applications it improves dough handling properties and may increase absorption, or give better volume.
